Tradition

Kelkenberg Farm

Last week the weather leading up to the weekend was wet, cold and dreary.  I wished on every star in the sky that the weekend would be lovely, and it was!  My mom and I took Jakob out to Kelkenberg Farm.  Something that is becoming yet another wonderful tradition.  In the past Aaron has gone with us but with his work schedule so crazy he never has a weekend off and my mom has been wanting to go for a ride out to the country since the leaves have started changing.  Saturday did NOT disappoint.

We got lost in the Hay Maze, raced ducks, played with the barn animals, took a hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick our beauties, we drank fresh cider, rode ponies, milked a goat, gushed over all the fresh farm produce and picked out some sweets to bring home...although someone got into the cookies in the car.

The whole ride home Jakob told of us his plan to someday buy the Kelkenberg Farm and have his whole family live on his land and tend to his animals and share in its plenty.   Sounds like a good idea to me son.
